They walked through a busy hallway, down a flight of stairs to the basement,
where a mass of anxious people roamed the corridor.
Another hall led to a large open area, and suddenly they were in a cafeteria,
louder and more crowded than the lunchroom at school.
마크와 경찰하디는 번잡한 홀을 통과하여 초조하고 걱정이 가득한 표정의 많은 사람들이
몰려있는 복도가 있는 지하실계산을 내려갔다
떠 다른 홀이 커다란 방과 연결되어있고..들어서자 카페테리아가 나타났다
카페테리아는 학교의 식당보다 훨씬 시끄럽고 복잡하였다

Hardy pointed to the only empty table in view, and Mark waited there.
Of particular concern to Mark at this moment was, of course, his little brother.
He was worried about Ricky's physical condition, although Hardy had explained
that he was in no danger of dying.
He said that some doctors would talk to him and try to bring him around.
But it could take time.
하디가 하나밖에 없는 빈테이블을 가르키는곳으로 가서 기다렸다
마크는 지금 가장 걱정이 되는것이 물론 동생의 일이였다
마크는 하디가 동생이 죽을 정도의 위험은 없다고 설명을 하였지만 동생리키의
건강이 걱정이 되었다
하디는 의사들이 동생을 회복시킬것이지만 시간이 좀 걸릴것이라고 하였다

He said that it was terribly important for the doctors to know exactly what
happened, the truth and nothing but the truth,
and that if the doctors were not told the truth then it could be severely damaging
to Ricky and his mental condition.
하디는 의사들이 무슨일이 있었는지 아주 정확하게 알아야 하는것이 정말
중요한 일이라고,정말 진실로 무슨일이 있었는지를 ,말하였다
그리고 의사들이 진실된 이야기를 듣지 못한다면 동생리키를 다칠것이고
정신적으로도 많이 다칠것이라고 이야기 하였다

Hardy said Ricky might be locked up in some institution for months,
maybe years, if the doctors weren't told the truth about what the boys
witnessed.
Hardy was okay, not too bright, and he was making the mistake of talking
to Mark as if he were five years old instead of eleven.
하디는 또 만약 의사들이 마크와 리키가 진짜 무엇을 보았는지
진실되게 이야기를 하지 않는다면 동생리키가 어떤 정신과치료동에 수개월
혹은 수년을 갖혀서 지낼지도 모른다고 하였다...
하디는 좋은 사람이지만 똑똑하지는 못한것 같았다..그는 마크를 11살이 아닌
5살백이 애들로 생각하고 이야기를 하는 실수를 하고 있는것이다

He described the padded walls, and rolled his eyes around with great exaggeration.
He told of patients being chained to beds as if spinning some horror story
around the campfire.
Mark was tired of it.
하디는 정신병원을 이야기 하면서 눈을 굴리면서 엄청나게 과장을 하면서
떠들고 있는것이다..(마크를 겁을 주고 얼리느라고)
하디는 침대에 쇠사슬로 환자들이 붙들어 메여져있는, 마치 놀러가서 캠프화이어
주변에서 무슨 무서운 귀신이야기를 하듯이 떠들어 댄다
마크는 그런이야기가 정말 귀찮다

경찰하디가 마크에게 겁을 살살 주는데 ..
마크는 전혀 흔들리지 않는다
the truth nothing but the truth!!라고 하는 말은 법정에서 증인이 손을 들고
선서를 할때도 빠짐없이 나타나는 말이다
진실만을 정말로 진실만을 ...

여러분들도 말을 할때 그냥 간단히 "좋다" It's good!!이라고 싱겁게하지 말고 형용사를
어떻게 해서든지 하나 더 붙여 보도록 하면 말이 맛있어진다
It's smooth and good!..무엇이던지 형용사를 하나 더 찾기는 어렵지 않을것이다

A doctor in a yellow jogging suit ran through the swinging doors at the end
of the emergency hallway and said something to the receptionist sitting behind
the dirty sliding windows.
She pointed, and he approched Dianne and Mark and Hardy as they stood
by a Coke machine in one corner of the admission lobby of St.Peter's Charity
Hospital.
노란 조깅복을 입은 의사 하나가 응급실복도의 끝에 있는 회전문을 통하여

다이엔,마크,하디를 가르켰다

He introduced himself to Dianne as Dr.Simon Greenway and ignored the cop
and Mark.
He was a psychiatrist, he said, and had been called moments earlier by Dr. Sage,
the family's pediatrician.
She needed to come with him.
Hardy said he would stay with Mark.
의사는 엄마 다이엔에게 심슨 그린웨이라고 자기 소개를 하고 경찰하디와
마크는 본척을 안하였다.
의사는 정신과의사였고 방금전에 가정소아담다의사 Sage로 부터 전화를 받았다고
한다
엄마와 같이 가야 할것이라고 하고 경찰하디는 마크와 같이 있겠다고
하였다

They hurried away, down the narrow hallway, dodging nurses and orderlies,
darthing around gurneys and parked beds, and disappeared through the
swinging doors.
The admissions lobby was crowed with dozens of sick and struggling
patients-to-be.
There was no empty chairs.
Family members filled out forms.
No one was in a hurry.
그들은 좁은 복도쪽으로 간호사들과 청소부들 사이를 헤치고,여기저기
서있는 침대들을 헤치고,회전문을 통하여 사라졌다

A hidden intercom rattled nonstop somewhere above, paging a hundred

마크는 배가 곺으지는 않았지만 ..병원로비에 있기가 싫었다
"예 조금..곺아요"
"매점에 가자 치즈버거를 사줄테니까.."

Trumann handed the phone to Scherff.
"Call our office. Get Hightower on the phone."
Foltrigg was pleased to see the FBI jump when he barked.
He grinned smugly at Fink.

포트릭은 지가 한마디 하면 즉각,즉각 반응을 하는 수사관들을 보는것이 즐겁다

Between them on the floor was a storage box crammed with files and

Big Bear Mountain이라는 아주 높은 산속으로 들어 가 본적이 있었다
(물론 일때문이였다)
남쪽으로 가면서 참으로 발음하기도 힘이든 이정표가 많이 있었고
산속으로 들어 가면서 또한 재미있는 지명이 많이 보였었다
인디언의 지명,멕시컨의 지명...
산속으로 가면서 지명하나가 기억이 남는것은 Arrow Head라고 하던가
화살촉이라는 지명이 기억에 남는다

검사 포트릭의 보조요원(검사보)핑크가 변호사 로미와 있었던 이야기가 계속된다

"Yeah, he cussed me out pretty good, but called the next day at the office.
We had lunch, and the guy was a nervous wreck. He was too scared to come
right out and ask if we knew about the body, and I played it cool.
I told him we were certain we'd have the body in plenty of time for the trial, and
I thanked him again.
"엄청 욕지거리를 퍼부었지만 다음날 사무실로 전화를 하였더군요
우리는 점심을 같이 하였고 로미는 완전히 초조하고 피폐한 상태였습니다
너무 겁을 먹어서 당장 요점을 이야기 하지 못하고 빙빙돌다가..
우리가 시체에 대하여 아느냐고 물었고 적당히 잘 둘러 쳤지요
우리는 재판에 시체에 대한 정보를 확보할 충분한 시간을 갖고 있고,또 다시
고맙다고 하였지요(마치 술에 취한 로미가 정보를 준것 같이...)

He was cracking up before my eyes. He hadn't slept or bathed.
His eyes were puffy and red. He got drunk over lunch, and started accusing
me of trickery and all sorts of sleazy, unethical behavior.
It was an ugly scene. I paid check and left, and he called me at home that night,
remarkably sober.
로미는 기가 팍죽었고..잠도 못자고 샤워도 못한 상태이더군요
눈은 퉁퉁붓고 충혈이 잔뜩되었더군요..점심때도 술을 곁드렸었고 온갖 속보이는
수작과 속임수,그리고 비윤리적을 하고 있다고 마구 욕을 퍼붓더군요
한마디로 추한 꼴을 보였고 내가 계산을 하고 자리를 일어 났지요
그날밤 술한잔 하지 않은 멀쩡한 상태에서 전화를 집으로 하였더군요

He apologized. I said no problem.
I explained to him that Roy was seriously considering an indictment against
him for obstruction of justice, and this set him off.
He said we couldn't prove it.
로미는 미안하다고 하고..나는 괞찮다고 하였지요
그리고 프트릭은 지금 로미를 공무집행방해로 기소를 붙일까도 심각하게
생각을 하고 있다고 설명을 하였지요..이말이 로미를 움찔하게 하였고
로미는 아마도 우리가 아무런 근거도 찾지를 못할것이라고 하더군요

I said maybe not, but he'd be indicted, arrested, and put on trial, and there
would be no way he could represent Barry Muldanno.
He screamed and cussed for fifteen minutes, then hung up.
I never heard from him again."
아마도 그럴지도 모르지만..로미는 기소가 될것이고,체포될것이고..재판에 회부
될것이고..베리멀다노를 변호할수도 없을것이라고 하였지요
로미는 소리를 지르고 한 15분간을 욕설을 퍼붓다가 전화를 끊었지요
그리고 나서 한번도 소식을 듣지 못하였습니다"

"He knows, or knew, where Muldanno put the body,"
Foltrigg added with certainty.
"Why weren't we informed?" Trumann asked.
"We were about to tell you. In fact, Thomas and I discussed it this afternoon,
just a short time before we got the call."
Fortrigg said this with an air of indifference, as if Trumann should not question
him about such things.
Trumann glanced at Scherff, who was glued to his legal pad, drawing pictures
of handguns.
"로미가 알고 멀다노가 어디에 시체를 처리하였는지 알고 있군"
포트릭은 확신을 갖고 덧붙였다
"왜 우리에게는 그런 정보를 주지 않았지?" 트르만이 항의를 한다
"말하려고 하였지...실은 토마스하고 오후에 협의를 하였지..
멤피스에서 전화를 받기 바로 전에 말이야"
포트릭은 무얼 그따위를 질문을 하느냐는 듯이 무관심한듯히 이야기를 하였다
트루만은 메모장에 붙어서 총그림같은 낙서를 하고 있는 세프를 흘깃 쳐다본다

Fink placed his reading material on the seat.
"Romey and I go way back. We were in law school together twenty years ago at
Tulane. He was a little crazy back then, but very smart. About a week ago,
he called me at home and said he wanted to talk about the Muldanno case.
He was drunk, thick-tounged, out of his head, and kept saying he couldn't
go through with the trial, which was surprising given how much he loves
these big cases. We talked for an hour. He rambled and stuttered--"

"변호사 로미와 나는 예전에 같이 있었지요.20년전에 법률학교를 같이 다녔고
당시의 로미는 좀 또라이 같았었으나 꽤나 똑똑한 편이였지요
일주일전 쯤에 집으로 전화로 멀다노사건에 대하여 이야기를 하고 싶다고 하는데
..좀 술에 취하여 혀가 잘 돌아가지가 않고 좀 정신이 없더라구요
계속 이야기를 하기를 멀다노사건의 재판을 끝내기가 힘들것이라고 하는데
,이것은 좀 놀라운일이였지요..그녀석이 얼마나 이 사건에 애착을 갖였었는데
그런 말을 하다니,한 한시간 이야기를 하였지요 ...계속 장황하게 늘어놓고
거들먹거리기도 하고....."

"He even cried," Fortrigg interrupted.
"Yeah, cried like a child. I was surprised by all this at first, but then nothing
Jerome Clifford did really surprised me anymore, you know.
Not even suicide. He finally hung up. He called me at the office at nine the
next morning scared to death he'd let something slip the night before.
He was in a panic, kept hinting he might know where the body is and fishing
to see whether he'd dropped off any clues during his drunken chitchat.
Well, I played along, and thanked him for the information he gave me the
night before, which was nothing.
I thanked him twice, then three times, and I could feel Romey sweating on
the other end of the phone. He called twice more that day, at the office,
then called me at home that night, drunk again.
It was almost comical, but I thought I could string him along and maybe
he'd let something slip.
I told him I had to tell Roy, and that Roy had told the FBI, and that the FBI
was now trailing him around the clock."
"This really freaked him out," Fortrigg added helpfully.
"울기도 하던가.."포트릭이 말을 끊고 이야기하였다
"맞아요 애들 같이 울더라구요..처음에는 무척 놀랐지만 ..
듣다보니까 더 이상 놀랄일이 아니였지요..자살이야기는 전혀 없었고
그렇게 하다가 전화를 끊었지요
다음날 아침 9시에 전날밤에 취중에 무언가를 잘못 흘렸을까 보아서 겁에
질려서 전화를 하였지요.
공포에 질려있었고..상원의원의 시체가 어디에 있는지를
아는듯한 분위기를 계속 주면서..전날밤 취한상태에서 이런저런 이야기를 하면서
혹시나 무언가 실마리를 흘리지나 않았는가 찾아내려는 듯 하였지요
그냥 시치미를 떼고 같이 이소리 ,저소리를 같이 하였지요. 그리고
전달밤에 정보를 주어서 고맙다고 ,실은 아무 정보도 주지 않았지만,하였지요
고맙다고 두번,세번 이야기를 하면서 전화를 하는 로미가 식은땀을 흘리는것을
느낄수가 있었지요.
그리고 그날 전화를 두번 더 하였어요,한번은 사무실에 또 한번은 밤에 또 술에
취한 상태에서 였지요
좀 묘한 일이지만 로미의 장단에 맞추면서..무언가를 흘린것 같은 분위기를
주었지요
그리고 무언가 흘린것을 포트릭에게 보고를 하였고 포트릭은 FBI에게
이야기를 하였고 지금 24시간을 감시를 하고 있다고 하였지요"
"그거 로미가 놀라 자빠지게 하였군"포트릭이 이야기 하였다

취중진담인지 취중실언인지...변호사 로미가 친구에게 마음이 답답하니까
술에 취하여 전화를 하여 이소리 저소리를 널어 놓고..은연중에 무언가를 알고
있는듯한 분위기를 모두 전달하고 ..다음날 술에서 깨서
"아차차!! 어제 밤에 내가 혹시 무언가 실언을 하지 않았는가??"라는 걱정에
동창 핑크에게 전화를 하며 계속 신경전을 한다 ..혹시나 무슨 실수로
중요한 실마리를 던져주지 않았는가 하는..걱정에 휩쌓여서..
여기에 친구 핑크(검사보)는 한술 더 떠서 "어제 밤에 정보를 주어서 고맙다"고 하니
변호사 로미는 죽을 맛이다...
술이 웬수다!!술이!!그놈의 술때문에 지존하신 검사님들 몇명이 목이 달아나고
검찰의 얼굴에 먹물을 뿌려놓치 않았는가...

FBI는 24시간 그를 감시한다..그들은 주야 교대로 일을 한다..머 이런 것이 되겠지

"Where's Muldanno?" he finally asked.
"New Orleans. We're watching him."
"He'll have a new lawyer by midnight, and by noon tomorrow he'll file a dozen
motions for continuances claiming the tragic death of Jerome Clifford seriously
undermines his constitutional right to a fair trial with assistance of counsel.
We'll oppose it of course, and the judge will order a hearing for next week, and
we'll have the hearing, and we'll lose, and it'll be six months before this case
goes to trial. Six months! Can you believe it?"
"멀다노는 지금 어디있지??"포트릭이 침묵을 지키다가 질문을 던졌다
"뉴오리언스에 있고 우리가 잘 감시를 하고 있습니다"
"자정내로 새 변호사를 선임을 할것이고..내일 정오까지는 합법적으로 변호사제롬의
죽음을 최대한 이용을 하여 각종서류를 잘 꾸며서 위원회에 제출을 할것이고
물론 우리는 반대를 할것이지만 판사는 공청회를 다음주에 진행하도록 결정을
할것이고..그럼 공청회를 갖고..우리가 지게 될것이고..그러면 재판이 이루어지려면
6개월은 기다려야 할것이고,6개월!!!알겠어???"

Trumann shook his head in disgust.
"At least it'll give us more time to find the body."
It certainly would, and of course Roy had thought of this.
He needed more time, really, he just couldn't admit it because he was the
prosecutor, the people's lawyer, the goverment fighting crime and corruption.
He was right, justice was on his side, and he had to be ready to attack evil
at any moment, anytime, anyplace.
트루만 진저리가 난다는 듯이 머리를 흔들었다
"최소한..시체를 찾을 수있는 시간은 벌게되는데요"
사실 그랬다, 물론 로이(포트릭)도 이부분을 생각을 하였었다
포트릭은 시간이 좀더 정말로 필요하다...그는 검사이고 모든 국민을 위한 변호사이기
때문에 그것을 인정하지 않을수가 없다...범죄와 부정부패와 싸우는 정부를
대신하고  있는 검사이다. 그가 하는 일은 옳은일이고,정의가 지켜주고 있고 악과 언제라도
어느 순간에라도, 어느곳에서고 공격을 할 준비를 하고 있어야 한다

He had pushed hard for a speedy trial because he was right, and he would
get a conviction.

없을것이고..CNN과의 인터뷰는 꿈도 꾸지 말아야 할것이고..국회의사당으로의 진출은
늦어질것이다

He had convinced those around him that a guilty verdict was possible with
no corpse, and this was true. But he didn't want to chance it.
He wanted the body.
Fink looked at Agent Trumann.
"We think Clifford knew where the body is. Did you know that?
It was obvious Trumann did not know this.
"What makes you think so?"
검사포트릭은 주변의 정황으로 시체가 없어도 배심원들의 유죄판결이 날것으로
확신을 하고 있었고 사실이 그러니까..하지만 좀 운에 맡기는 그런 아슬아슬한것을
바라지 않았다
포트릭은 시체를 찾고 싶은것이다
핑크가 수사관 트루만을 쳐다보면서
"생각하기로는 죽은 변호사 크리포드가 시체가 어디에 있는지를 아는것 같애..알고 있어?"
트루만은 이것은 생각을 하지 못하였다
"왜 그렇게 생각을 하나??"

무엇이 너를 그렇게 생각하게 만들었나??
라고 고지식하게 해석을 하면 골치가 아프다 ..그냥
왜 그렇게 생각하는거야???이지
해석을 하지 말고 그냥 들리는대로 의미가 자동으로 오는,
중간과정을 털어버려야 한다...

not a very good copy, and they'll try and fax it to us in a few minutes.
Apparently the note was handwritten in black ink, and the writing is fairly legible.
It's a few paragraphs of instructions to his secretary about the funeral-
he wants to be cremated - and what to do with his office furniture.
The note tells secretary where to find his will. Nothing about Boyette, of course.
Nothing about Muldanno. Then, he apparently tried to add something to the
note with a blue Bic pen, but it ran out of ink after he started his message.
It's badly scrawled, and hard to read."

없을 정도로 갈겨 놓았답니다.."

"We don't know. The Memphis police still have possession of the note, the gun,
the pills, all the physical evidence removed from the car.
McThune is trying to get it now. They found a Bic pen, no ink, in the car, and
it appears to be the same pen he tried to use to add something to the note."
"They'll have it when we arrive, won't they?"
"무어라고 써놓았는데?"
"모르겠다는군요..멤피스경찰애들이 아직 유서,총,약,모든 자동차에서 꺼낸
물적증거물을 갖고 있고 맥썬이 그것을 받아내려고 하고 있구요..
잉크가 다떨어진 Bic펜(볼펜이름)을 발견하였는데..유서에 무언가 추가하려고
하였던 볼펜과 같은 것 같다고 합니다"
"멤피스에 도착을 하면 우리애들이 증거물을 모두 확보하고 있겠지?"

Fortrigg asked in a tone that left no doubt he expected to have it all
as soon as he got to Memphis.
"They're working on it," Trumann answered.
포트릭은 멤피스에 도착하자마자 모든것을 확보하고 있을것이라는 확신을
갖는 목소리로 물어보았다

Foltrigg was not his boss, technically, but this case was a prosecution now,
not an investigation, and reverend was in control.
"So Jerome Clifford drives to Memphis and blows his brains out,"
포트릭은 공식적으로 상사가 아니지만 이번 사건은 단순한 수사가 아니고
기소사건이고 포트릭이 기소사건을 전체적으로 통제를 하고 있다
"변호사 제롬크리포트가 멤피스까지 와서 머리에 총을 쏘았다...!!??"

Foltrigg said to the window.
"Four weeks before trial. Man of man. What else can go crazy with this case?"
No answer was expected. They rode in silence, waiting for Roy to speak again.
포트릭은 창을 쳐다보면서 이야기를 한다
"재판이 있기 4주남겨놓고 죽다니...대단해..사건이 사건인 만큼 누구라도 돌지
않겠어??아무 답도 기대하지 않는 질문이다..침묵속에서 달린다..포트릭이
무언가 다시 이야기를 하기를 기다리면서...

유서는 유언장(will)이 어디에 있는지를 비서에게 알려준다..
영화같은데서 보면 머리핀하나도 누구에게 주고..구두 한켤레도 누구에게 주고
하는 부분이 있지 않던가...

"They're trying to convince Memphis PD to release the car so we can go over it.
It'll probably take an hour or so.
They're having a hard time explainning Clifford and Boyette and all this to Memphis,
but they're making progress. Head of our Memphis office is  guy named Jason
McThune, very tough and persuasive, and he's meeting with the Memphis chief
right now.
"멤피스경찰에게 우리가 자동차를 조사를 할수있도록 넘기라고 설득을 하고
있고 몇시간안에 넘겨받을것 같습니다
변호사크리포드와 보에티에 대하여 멤피스애들한테 설명을 하느라고 애를
좀 먹는 모양이지만 잘 되어가고 있답니다..멤피스의 우리쪽 대장은 재슨 맥썬이라고
하는 친구인데..매우 터프하고 설득력이 대단하지요..지금 멤피스쪽 국장과
계속 협의중이랍니다(좀 헷갈리지요..수사를 하려니 관할구역도 있고 관할구역에서
일하는 이쪽구역의 파견대장도 있을것이고..저쪽구역의 경찰도 있을것이고..
FBI도 있을것이고 ..이렇게 관련부서와의 협의가 참 중요한것이지요..이런 협의를
잘하는 사람이 많아야겠지요..시스템과 시스템간의 coordination또 시스템내에서의
coordination...모든분야의  coordination이 되어야 선진국입니다)

Mcthune's called Washington and Washington's called Memphis, and we should
have the car within a couple of hours. Single gunshot wound to the head,
obviously self-inflicted.
맥썬이 워싱톤에 전화를 하고 워싱톤에서 멤피스에 전화를 하여 자동차가
몇시간안에 우리쪽으로 넘어올것입니다(역시 지역과 지역간의 협조를 위하여 위(워싱톤)에
이야기를 하여야하는군.....)

Apparently he tried to do it first with a garden hose in the tail pipe, but for some
reason it didn't work.
He was taking Dalmane and codeine, and washing it all down with Jack Daniel's.
No record on the gun, but it's too early.
처음에 호스를 배기파이프에 끼우고 시도를 하였으나 어쩐연유인지 실패를 한것이
확실하고..Dalmane과 codeine(약이름)을 버번위스키(잭다니엘이라는 이름의)를
마시면서 먹었고..총에 대한 등록은 없고..꽤나 구형인것 같답니다

멤피스에서 검사를 하고 있고 싸구려 38구경 이고 입에 넣고 쏜것 같답니다"
"자살이 확실하지??"포트릭이 물어보았다

"어디서 그랬데??"

"Somewhere in north Memphis. Drove into the woods in his big black Lincoln,
and took care of himself."
"I don't suppose anyone saw it?"
"Evidently not. A couple of kids found the body in a remote area."
"How long had he been dead?"
"멤피스북쪽 어딘가인데...숲속으로 검정 링컨을 몰고 들어가서 ..혼자서 모든것을
한것이지요"
"아무도 보지않았을것 같은데??"
"확실히 아무도 보지못하였을것이빈다..아이들 둘이서 좀 멀리떨어진곳에서 발견을
하였다고는 하는데"
"죽은지 얼마나 되었다고 하나??"

"Not long. They'll do an autopsy in a few hours, and determine the time of death."
"Why Memphis?"
"Not sure. If there's a reason, we don't know it yet."
Fortrigg pondered these things and sipped his tomato juice.
Fink took notes. Scherff scribbled furiously. Wally boxx hung on every word.
"What about the note?"
Fortrigg asked, looking out the window.

트르먼이 빨리 집에 가서 갈아입을 옷 몇가지를 쌓갖고 당장 포트릭의 사무실로
가라고 하였었고..이것이 셰프가 한일의 전부였다
그리고 지금 받아서 적고 ..이런 저런지시를 듣고 있는것이다
(지금 이팀에 어떻게 투입이 되었는지도 감이 잘안잡히는 쫄짜 셰프의 상황이다)

The chauffeur, Wally Boxx, actually had a license to practice law, though he
didn't know to use it.
Officially, he was an assistant United States attorney, same as Fink, but
in reality he was a fetch-and-catch boy for Foltrigg.
운전기사 워리복스는 실제로는 법률사무소를 운영할수있는 면허를 갖고 있지만
이 면허를 유용하게 활용을 할줄을 모른다
공식적으로는 윙크와 같이 미합중국의 검사보이지만..실제로는 검사포트릭의
잡다한 일을 다 맡아서  하고 있다

He drove his van, carried his briefcase, wrote his speeches, and handled
the media, which took fifty percent of his time because his boss was gravely
concerned with his public image.
검사포트릭의 밴을 운전을 하고 포트릭의 가방을 챙기고..포트릭의 연설문을
작성하고 대외적인 이미지관리에 신경을 엄청쓰는 포트릭을 위하여
거의 모든일의 50%를 홍보(매스컴)의 일에 신경을 쓰고 있다

Boxx was not stupid.
He was deft at political maneuvering, quick to the defense of his boss, and
thoroughly loyal to the man and his mission.
Foltrigg had a great future, and Boxx knew he would be there one day
whispering importantly with the great man as only the two of them
strolled around Capitol Hill.

하는것이 한국같이 전국의 수재들이 골이 터지게 육법전서를 딸딸이 외우고
수만인지 수천인지에서 한둘이 되는 그런 나라가 아니니까....

fetch and catch는 강아지에게 쉭~! 가서 물어와 !!하면 강아지가 열나게 가서
물어오듯이 아주 충성스럽게 심부름을 잘하는 똘마니!!
